This AHO Residential Tenancy Agreement form should be used by Aboriginal Community Housing Providers (ACHPs) when they want to lease an AHO property that has an active Management Agreement (MA) or Agreement for Lease (AFL) in place.

CEI grant offers $150k to design solutions with community

The 2025 Client Experience Initiative (CEI) grant program is now open!

The grant offers Aboriginal organisations up to $150,000 to design a solution for their community. The successful applicant will co-design with their community to create positive outcomes.

The solution must plan to deliver and sustain a service that supports the community in areas like physical and mental health, education, employment and wellbeing.

Eligible organisations can apply using Smarty Grants.

New community engagement role to strengthen housing alliance and strategy

The Aboriginal Housing Office (AHO) works alongside a number of Regional Alliances that support local decision making and foster positive relationships between the community and government, enhancing stakeholder engagement and overall capacity building. The AHO are proud to announce funding being allocated to a new temporary position in the Riverina Murray Regional Alliance (RMRA) as a Housing Lead that will facilitate and nurture positive working relationships between the AHO and RMRA.

About the Murdi Paaki Region Aboriginal Housing Program

The Murdi Paaki Regional Assembly (MPRA) and the NSW Government are collaborating through the Regional Aboriginal Housing Leadership Assembly (RAHLA) to enhance social housing for Aboriginal people in the Murdi Paaki region.

The $85.2m Murdi Paaki Region Aboriginal Housing Program (MPRAHP) is a direct response to the documented ageing and deterioration of Aboriginal social housing in the region.

AHO CEI grant brings together key stakeholders for co-design workshop

On Thursday 27 February, the AHO Client Outcomes team joined MobReady, recipient of the Client Experience Initiative (CEI) grant 2024-2025, to facilitate its first co-design workshop for their initiative. The co-design workshop brought together valuable insights from several stakeholders who attended on the day to identify ways to collaborate effectively and share key resources to ensure the initiatives success.

The Western Regional Aboriginal Housing Committee (RAHC) is seeking an additional committee member. People living in Murrumbidgee, Bathurst, Albury, Wagga, Dareton and Wentworth and surrounds are especially encouraged to apply. 

The role of RAHCs

RAHCs enable self-determination in their local communities, allowing people to participate in the housing decisions that impact them.

IN DEVELOPMENT: Domestic and Family Violence Guideline

The AHO Policy team is developing guidance to support Aboriginal Community Housing Providers to manage properties where tenants have experienced Domestic and Family Violence (DFV). In the first half of 2025, the team will be consulting with key stakeholders across NSW to inform the content of these guidelines.
