The Sector Visioning Workshop (SVW) co-hosted by the Aboriginal Housing Office (AHO), the NSW Aboriginal Land Council (NSWALC), and the Aboriginal Community Housing Industry Association (ACHIA), concluded with an enhanced commitment to support Aboriginal Community Housing Providers (ACHPs) across New South Wales.
Over the two-day event, ACHPs gathered to explore strategic priorities and initiatives aimed at strengthening the housing sector. Participants took part in valuable discussions and gained insights into key AHO programs, such as the Digital Restart Program, Common Terms and Conditions (CTC), and the Repairs and Maintenance Asset Management Framework (AMF). The agenda also included a presentation on the Pemulwuy Project from the Aboriginal Housing Company and an overview of ACHIA's NCAT Training.
Attendees heard a series of insightful panel sessions which addressed critical issues facing the housing sector. These discussions provided a platform for sharing best practices and fostering collaboration, emphasising the importance of working together to enhance housing outcomes for Aboriginal communities.
In addition to the panel sessions, participants took part in focused workshops that allowed them to identify priority areas and explore innovative ways to collaborate more effectively. The energy and enthusiasm in the workshops highlighted a collective determination to ensure that ACHPs are well-equipped to serve their communities.
ACHIA also took the opportunity to show off their new website (https://www.achiansw.org.au/) to SVW participants.
As the workshop wrapped up, AHO, ACHIA and NSWALC expressed gratitude to all ACHPs who attended and contributed to the valuable discussions.
