Types of housing assistance you can apply for

Social housing

You can apply for housing owned by the Aboriginal Housing Office or the Department of Communities and Justice (DCJ) using Housing Pathways.

Temporary accommodation

Short-term AHO accommodation is available to people fleeing domestic and/or family violence, who have experienced natural disasters or are editing corrective services or some care arrangements.

Financial assistance

The AHO offer one-off grants for people looking to buy a home. Find out more about this on the home ownership grants page.

Community owned and controlled housing

Some communities manage social and affordable housing that is not connected to the NSW Government. For more information about this housing, contact your local land council or Aboriginal Community Housing Provider.
