A grant available to help Aboriginal students with their living costs while at TAFE or university. By helping them overcome barriers that might get in the way of studying or applying to study, this grant aims to improve retention rates of existing students and increase enrolment of aspiring students.

Eligibility
Tertiary Accommodation Grants are awarded by a competitive, merit-based assessment process.
There are two sets of criteria you must meet to be eligible for this grant.
- Your university or TAFE must have partnered with the AHO's Tertiary Accommodation Grants (TAG) program. Current partners:
- Newcastle University
- University of Sydney
- University of Wollongong
- Macquarie University
- all TAFE NSW locations.
- You must be able to show evidence related to your study and living situation, including:
- confirmation of your Aboriginality (as required in your university or NSW TAFE application)
- full-time enrolment in an approved course or part time enrolment for students living with a disability or mental health condition. (Part-time students with a disability and/or mental health condition, demonstrated through confirmation from a medical service/certificate, may also be eligible.)
- being a social housing tenant or being in housing stress (spending more than 40% of your weekly income on accommodation).
You will also be asked to provide a brief statement (<400 words) outlining why you need this grant.
