AHO Tenancy Plus Grant

A financial grant that rewards eligible long-term AHO tenants with a higher rate of co-contribution.

Eligibility

This grant is open to Aboriginal people who are in the process of buying a home. Applications open to social housing tenants. 

To be eligible for the AHO Tenancy Plus Grant you must be an Aboriginal person who:

To be eligible for the AHO Tenancy Plus Grant you must be an Aboriginal person who:

  • has a maximum individual/ combined annual income of up to $200,000
  • has saved at least $1,000 toward a deposit
  • currently lives in NSW and is purchasing a property in NSW
  • does not currently own residential property (with the exception of land)
  • has not qualified for Indigenous Business Australia (IBA) Remote Indigenous Home Loan package.

The main applicant must be Aboriginal and take on at least 25% ownership of the property being purchased.

The AHO tenant must also have:

  • been listed as head tenant for five years or more
  • not had rental or water arrears over $500 within the last five years
  • taken care of the property
  • not had a negative result from the NSW Civil and Administrative Tribunal (NCAT)
  • not been responsible for any confirmed anti-social behaviour incidents.
